Wow, what a weekend at Focus, seeing God move in a powerful way!
This is going to sound absolutely silly coming from someone who grew up in a Christian family, has had my own relationship with God since I was 6 years old, and has been a pastor's kid. But I have been asking God how to explain to people that Christianity is a relationship with Jesus rather than a religion.
Well, at Focus, I heard stories of how people who knew who God is have experienced Jesus, and I was asking myself the question of how to know who Jesus is. I guess I have been on autopilot with the Bible's message that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. I had a revelation that Jesus is the WAY to the Father, who is God.
Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice to God so we no longer have to perform animal sacrifices to be forgiven. Having that relationship is so freeing, as it relieves us from any religious rituals or habits that we would HAVE to do in order to be forgiven and saved. We can come to God whenever we like.
Jesus leaving us the Holy Spirit means Jesus is present with us all the time. I am so grateful to have been born into a Christian family but to have made my own decision to follow Jesus.
Jesus had a relationship with people, spending time eating with them and doing life with them, and I think that’s what Christians are meant to do: to show who Jesus is through our actions and our love for people.
Praying that this gives you a new revelation of who Jesus is in your life.
